Hot Chocolate with a Twist – Feeney’s Irish Cream Liquor

I love this time of year. It’s just an excuse to have hot chocolates when you feel like it. And with it being so much colder now, a hot chocolate in the dark cosy evenings is a must. Add a bit of Feeney’s Irish Cream Liquor and it’s a match made in heaven.

So what exactly is Feeney’s Irish Cream? Well, remarkably it takes only 24 hours from dairy to distillery. It’s made with barrel-aged, single malt Irish whiskey blended with milk chocolate and the finest quality Irish dairy cream, farmed fresh from cattle grazing in local pastures. I was kindly sent a sample bottle to try out and have to say it was delicious. It’s got subtle flavours of chocolate but also with the whisky aftertaste (but not too strong as I’m not a fan of Whisky!)

I love a good hot chocolate and like to make them a little bit special sometimes. So here’s a recipe you could try for yourself.

  1. A couple of teaspoons of your favourite chocolate powder.
  2. Add that to approximately 50ml hot milk and mix.
  3. This is the best bit. Add 50ml Feeney’s Irish Cream along with a teaspoon of vanilla syrup (or you could use a tiny amount of vanilla essence) and pour into a long glass.
  4. If you’re feeling super indulgent you could top with whipped cream, some mini marshmallows, a flake and grated chocolate – what more could you want!

To all the men out there, why not treat your partner to one of these? Or ladies you could host you favourite movie with one?

Or you could simply add to a Whisky glass with some fresh ice cubes and drink away!

If you’re wondering where to buy this Irish Cream, then Amazon, Asda, Tesco, Master of Malt and 31Dover.com are your places!

Have you tried Feeney’s Irish Cream Liquor before? x.

This looks soooooo delicious. I love a Baileys at Christmas (neat or in hot chocolate) so I’m sure this would taste every bit as good. I shall look out for this the next time I do the ASDA shop, thank you for the tip! X

Never tried but then I’m not a big fan of these creamy alcoholic drinks so sadly as nice as it sounds not for me. I’m the same with a Bailey’s Coffee ☕️ I’m a tea drinker all the way. 😊
