Simply Hammered! (as part of the #ShopSmall Blog Series)

This is the first post in my *brand new* #ShopSmall Blog Series

When Caroline from “Simply Hammered Silver” contacted me regarding a blog review I was really excited. I love supporting small businesses and sharing their amazing work in any way that I can! I’d seen a couple of her pieces of jewellery before and always loved the designs and finish created.

Caroline kindly made me a Gemstone Stacking Ring on a beaded sterling silver ring band with an gorgeous amethyst natural gemstone in (I’m a February girl)! I absolutely love it and it has a really gorgeous purple shine in the light.

Here’s a bit about how Simply Hammered Silver began:

“I started to learn basic silversmithing skills in 2015, I immediately fell in love with my new found hobby and started to build my own home based workshop so I could practice and enhance my skills. Earlier this year in February 2016 I obtained my very own hallmark and decided to open my Folksy shop and attend a couple of craft fayres”

Caroline individually makes each piece of jewellery in her workshop at home. On her Etsy and Folksy shops she’s got a wonderful range of jewellery from beautiful earrings to gorgeous necklaces. Every occasion is covered too including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas, so you‘ve got no excuses!

What I love the most is that each is handmade and I think this really adds to the uniqueness; something you don’t get when purchasing jewellery from high-end retailers. There is also the personal touch offered on many items such as the Personalised Bangle which is very popular and I can see why! So many possibilities and so many different people you could buy this for as a little surprise or gift.

Caroline puts a lot of hard work and time into each piece of jewellery that she makes and the quality shines through. What a lot of people don’t realise about independent and small businesses is that people like Caroline run their business alongside their day job and running of their family. The devotion and passion shines through in every piece and order that Caroline does.

If you visit Ely Markets then you might see Caroline there (usually the 3rd week of the month). You can also take a look at Caroline’s range of beautiful jewellery via the below links:

Me too, there is something unique and personal about it. And for the price I think much better value and quality than what you’d buy from a high street store xx.
