If you’re looking for some podcast recommendations then you’ve come to just the right place. Podcasts are totally making their way back in. Is it the lack of decent music these days or the increase in people wanting to unwind more. Who knows. But I have a new-found love for them. Whether it’s whilst I’m driving in the car or taking a bubble bath, I think they are the perfect way to unwind and detach yourself from the hustle and bustle of life.
Here’s a quick round-up of my favourite 5 podcasts at the moment. There’s a bit for everyone here so I hope you find one that you like too!
1. Blue Planet II
Everyone is a Blue Planet lover so how versatile is it when you can get access in the form of your earphones. These ones were actually released to complement the TV programmes but what the heck, you can never get bored of David’s voice!! What I like is that they are really informative episodes and not just on the creatures themselves but also on the filming and narration too.
Perfect for listening to when you’re… tired after a long day, going to bed or sitting in the garden.
Favourite episodes – Ep.3 Cityscapes and Cephalopods Ep.5 Sea Cucumbers and Pajama Sharks
2. CTRL ALT DELETE
These are hosted by Emma Gannon and I love the fact she chooses her guests because they inspire her. There are so many different episodes on a range of topics including self-care, creativity and social media. She even has my favourite author, Sophie Kinsella in on Ep.58! Emma’s enthusiasm really helps you to apply what you learn in these podcasts and make positive changes.
Perfect for listening to when… you are having a coffee, taking a bath or on a walk.
Favourite episodes – Ep.36 Mara Wilson – On Growing Up & Accidental Fame, Ep.58 Sophie Kinsella – A Not So Perfect Life and Ep.109 Jojo Moyes: How To Respond To Failure and Feedback
Bexa has a post on her 5 favourite CTRL ALT DELETE podcasts so go check that out here if you think these are for you!
3. Table Manners with Jessie Ware
There’s food involved, lots of nattering and all round fun. Jessie Ware is joined by her chef Mum Lennie and each episode features a different guest, just to spice things up! You also get a taster of what delights they’re cooking up to so there is some foodie inspiration there along with some giggles.
Perfect for listening to when you’re… cooking dinner, having an evening on your own or wanting to feel like you’re at a dinner party!
Favourite episodes – Ep.4 Annie Mac and Ep.8 Clara Amfo
4. At Home with…
I’m a lover of Keith Lemon’s ‘Through the Keyhole’ on ITV and this really is the next best thing if you don’t have access to a TV! A good old tour and rummage around the house and Lily and Anna get to discover who the person really is. This is a really good podcast for getting an insight into a stylish celeb! Maybe you’ll get some tips for your home too…
Perfect for listening to when you’re… having a bath, commuting or tidying the house.
Favourite episodes – Ep.7 Liz Earle and Ep.9 Giovanna Fletcher
5. TED Talks Daily
These are really perfect podcasts because they aren’t overly long but also allow you to take something away from them; they are very thought-provoking! As these are daily podcasts there’s always so much choice if you aren’t intrigued enough by the titles!
Perfect for listening to when you’re… after that intellectual fix for the day, commuting or during car journeys.
Favourite episodes – This deep-sea mystery is changing our understanding of life (Karen Lloyd) and From death row to law graduate (Peter Ouko)
Have you listened to any of these before? Which podcasts would you recommend?
